Special Needs GPS: Guiding Families of children with special needs to satisfying lives.
- Do you feel overwhelmed?
- Do you find the things you want are a bit out of reach?
- Do you need some extra support to get you through the day?
Then Coaching might be just what you need
Coaching is a guidance system like the GPS in your car. You tell your coach where you want to go and how you want to get there. Do you want the fastest route or the scenic route? No matter what special needs your child has, the way you meet them will be unique to your child and your family. That's the advantage to having a coach. You have a personal relationship with the coach who works with you and your child to assure that you meet your goals your way.
Coaching is about creating a happy life for your child and your family by...
- recognizing your wisdom,
- knowing when and how to ask for help, and
- knowing where to find resources
- sharing the load The coaching map is the plan developed at your first meeting.
It includes goals: What are we going to accomplish?
A map for success: which path will get us there?
Tasks: who will complete each one?
Timelines: when will each task be completed?
Schedule: when will we meet? How often? How long?
Regular meetings are 45 minutes to an hour long.
At the meeting, we will talk about which tasks have been completed.
What we learned from them.
What is working.
What we have accomplished!
