Special Needs GPS: Guiding You to Live the Life you Want through advocacy, guidance and education.
You might want a Special Needs Life Coach if
You feel overwhelmed by the challenges in your life,
You find the things you want are a bit out of reach,
You need some extra support to get you through the day,
There are too many options and you don't know which one is best,
You could use a helping hand.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a guidance system like the GPS in your car. You tell your coach where you want to go and how you want to get there. Do you want the fastest route or the scenic route? No matter what challenges you face, the way you meet them will be unique to your life and your family. That's the advantage to having a coach. You have a personal relationship with the coach who works with you to assure that you meet your goals your way.
The coaching map is the plan developed at your first meeting.
It includes your goals: What will your life look like when you live it your way?
A map for success: which path will get you there?
Tasks: what supports will assure your success?
Timelines: when will each task be completed?
Schedule: when will we talk? How often? How long?
Regular conversations are 30-45 minutes long and can be in person, by phone or using video chat technology.
Each time we will talk about which tasks have been completed.
What you learned from them.
What is working.
What you have accomplished!
Coaching is about creating a the life you want by...
- recognizing your wisdom,
- knowing when and how to ask for help, and
- knowing where to find resources
- sharing the load
